  1. Oh Rand... trying so hard to take some time off from the blog and we just won't leave you alone! Thanks again for all the fun. I'll wish you safe travels with every WidgetCO 757/767 that passes over my house. BTW, what's the status of the Photo of the Month Contest on your other site?

  3. Somehow, I think you've been there before Moe!

    Thanks Rand!

  4. Congratulations Moe! That looks like it alright.
Now Cap'n Rand can really take a break from the blog.

    Thanks !

  5. OK, here's the deal. Moe has an advantage. Why you may be wondering? Well, he authored an excellent, well written, highly researched book entitled MANCHESTER'S AIRPORT, FLYING THROUGH TIME. Believe me, Moe's intimately familiar with Manchester's, original, 1937 terminal, that today houses the NH Aviation Historical Society. It's a beautiful example of early American commercial aviation history, supported by a very involved historical society. If you're ever near MHT, it's worth the visit and so is Moe's book.

    Here's a link to the book: http://brouder.info/mht/testimonials.htm
As you may know we've recently moved and if mine weren't packed away in a box somewhere I'd take a photo and post it.

Now, to other matters. I'll post another photo tomorrow morning about 0830 or so before I leave on my next trip. Same deal... win a FLYING WITH RAND T-shirt.

Congratulations Moe, send me a mailing address, or if you're passing thru Amherst sometime, stop in.

  6. ANE DC-3 over Nantucket in 1975!

  7. Very good, Bob! I started looking around Boston but was looking North. Before I got around to Nantucket & the Vinyard you had it pegged.

Google maps shows the coastline hasn't changed that much - the airplane (and the pilots?) sure have! :)

  8. Sarah,

I don't think I can match you, but I do have a pretty decent memory. I recognized this picture from Captain Rand's other website, under the "Rand's History" section:
